Rock legend Bruce Springsteen was treated to an intriguing surprise at a recent performance.

Springsteen, 73, still regularly puts on hours-long concerts, but a 22-year-old university student may have been the highlight of the Backstreets rockers’ recent show in Edinburgh, Scotland for several attendees!
Not only university students feel the influence of the “boss”. Springsteen’s gift comes a few months after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin opened up about how he’s been influenced by Springsteen’s legacy.

The Blast told in March how Martin was influenced by Springsteen.
Martin stopped by Conan O’Brien’s podcast and told listeners that he only eats one meal a day. He also reportedly no longer eats dinner.
Springsteen has something to do with Martin’s newfound diet plan; The duo had eaten together and Martin wanted to achieve a physique similar to Springsteen! The team performed together in Philadelphia last June.
During the duo’s meal together, Springsteen reportedly shared a tip on how to achieve a physique similar to his. He reportedly shared the advice not to eat after 4pm, which Martin is now following, and also shared it with O’Brien in his interview. (Per Daily Mail)
“I was on a strict diet anyway,” Martin continued. “But I was like, ‘Bruce looks even fitter than me.’
Martin also shared with O’Brien how Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, validated her husband’s dietary habits.
“And Patti said he only eats one meal a day. I thought, ‘Well, let’s go. That’s my next challenge,” he noted.

Springsteen was recently thought-provoking after an audience slipped him a present mid-concert.
Student Nathan Collet made sure to make an impression on The Boss; according to the Daily RecordCollet held up a sign and asked Springsteen if he could give the “Born To Run” singer a copy of his thesis!
Collet’s dissertation is Brilliant Disguises: An Analysis of Masculinity in the Works and Life of Bruce Springsteen. The title refers to Springsteen’s Brilliant Disguise from the 1987 Tunnel Of Love LP.
Collet spoke to the publication and revealed details about his search.
“I’ve been a Springsteen fan since I was 10,” he said. “When he announced the tour, I gave him a copy of my dissertation myself.” The outlet also reported that Collet traveled 186 miles from his home in England to attend the concert in Murrayfield, Scotland.
“Later he walked by again and I held up my dissertation and he took it,” Collet continued. “He looked at it on stage and said it was very beautiful before placing it next to the drums.”
“I was in seventh heaven for the rest of the show and the concert was phenomenal,” he said. “Nobody puts on a show like Springsteen.”
