Tom Brady announced his return to the NFL a few weeks ago after 40 days of retirement. The news was music to the ears of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise, who will welcome him back into their setup for another season as primary quarterback.

After failing to make the Super Bowl last year, Tom Brady announced his retirement from the game to spend more time with his family. This move by the quarterback put the cat among the doves within the Buccaneers camp, which had to look for other quarterback options to lead the team for the upcoming season.

Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians admitted they desperately needed a quarterback for the upcoming season if Brady hadn’t come out of retirement. The veteran coach said they uncovered as many bricks as possible to find a replacement for Tom Brady if he stuck by his decision to no longer play in the NFL.

“We had started to uncover as many stones as possible”, Arians told NFL Network’s Steve Wyche during an interview at the Annual League Meeting.

“We would have turned every stone. … Jason made his calls. We were in the middle of all this when Tom decided to come back and thank God he could say, ‘No thanks bro. We’re out.” concluded Bruce Arians on Brady’s dramatic return to the NFL.

According to Buccaneers general manager Bruce Arians, Jason Licht had already attempted to sign a quarterback, but the duo breathed a sigh of relief when they learned of Brady’s return.

The Buccaneers are now hoping Brady’s return will propel them to make it to the Super Bowl again this year after narrowly missing a performance last year.
