On Feb. 9, TMZ reported that Britney’s close friends and family were planning an intervention for the pop star. However, that intervention did not include her father Jamie Spears, mother Lynne Spears, or sister Jamie Lynn Spears, all of whom were reportedly involved in her controversial 13-year conservatorship.

A source who was reportedly in regular contact with Britney told the outlet, “I’m afraid she’s going to die,” amid allegations that Britney is struggling with her mental health and substance abuse. A source said the singer is on medication to “spice her up” and “went out of control” after she stopped taking medication “that stabilizes her.”

Sources reported that her manager had actually rented a house in the LA area for several months. According to insiders, Sam was supposed to bring an “unsuspecting” Britney to the house, where Sam, her manager, doctors and an interventionist would try to convince her to seek help.

Ultimately, however, the reported intervention never took place after Britney became “somewhat aware” of the idea of an intervention. Instead, Britney reportedly went to see a doctor the next day, who reportedly “went well.” Another source told PEOPLE that Sam was “as supportive as possible” of his wife amid her health struggles.

Another insider said, “Britney is becoming increasingly unpredictable and those around her are more concerned,” adding, “She’s often up all night sleeping during the night [the] day and has much anger.”
