Brisbane roads have been closed as an emergency

A declaration of emergency for an area in southwest Brisbane has been lifted.

The statement was made around 1.50pm on Wednesday under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA), with residents inside the Oxley exclusion zone being urged to stay indoors.

The area included Portal Street, Dowding Street and Greenview Street.

“Police, including special officers and a canine unit, visited the area in relation to a male suspected of being linked to property crime,” Queensland Police said.

“The area was thoroughly searched and cleared with the PSPA revoked at around 4.15pm.”

The investigations are ongoing.
