Brian Snitker got Dave Martinez going to the All-Star Game

Kudos to Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker for making sure Washington Nationals skipper Dave Martinez will actually be a part of this year’s Midsummer Classic.

Brian Snitker supports Dave Martinez 100 percent when it comes to this year’s All-Star Game.

Since the Atlanta Braves Snitker, who won the NL pennant and the 2021 World Series, will serve as manager of this year’s National League All-Star team. Because it wasn’t a 2020 All-Star game due to the global pandemic, Martinez didn’t have a chance to lead the NL roster in the year after his 2019 Washington Nationals won the World Series for the first time in franchise history.

For some reason, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts didn’t pay it a year ago…

Brian Snitker does the right thing and adds Dave Martinez to his all-star team

Looks. Washington has fallen off a cliff in the years since defeating the Houston Astros in the Fall Classic three seasons ago. The Nationals are among the worst teams in the National League. While most reigning championship managers tend to add Skipper to other competing teams, it shows how much respect Snitker has for the leader of one of his club’s biggest rivals.

Not to say there are karmic implications here, but this is the real deal. It could give Snitker the green light to fill his NL roster with borderline Braves All-Stars. Atlanta should bring a handful of players to the Midsummer Classic anyway (Ronald Acuña Jr., Dansby Swanson, Max Fried, etc.), but with Snitker deciding the last few spots on the roster, the spoils go to the winner!

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game will be held on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. As fate would have it, Dodger Stadium was scheduled to be home to the 2020 MLB All-Star Game, which was canceled due to COVID. 19. This is the fourth time the Dodgers have hosted the event, but it will only be the second time at Dodger Stadium. How is that even possible?

Win or lose, Martinez will partner with Snitker and company in the National League dugout.
