Braves and Mets fans had a game day on the field mocking national players for playing lowball with a contract offer far below his worth.
Juan Soto is one of the top young players of the game. He can even command a contract worth up to $500 million.
Apparently, his team, the Nationals, are not aware of it.
Soto told ESPN’s Enrique Rojas that he refuse a contract offer $350 million over 13 years from Washington before MLB closed.

Even if the Country uses $350 million as a starting point in their negotiations, it seems pretty low compared to an offer.
In terms of average salary, that deal wouldn’t put him in the top 15 highest paid players in baseball with just $27 million per year.
Soto is 23 years old this year and has had four excellent seasons in major leagues under his leadership. Given his youth and his MVP contenders in each of the past three years, he would be in line for a big payday.
Sure, $350 million is a lot of money for most people. For a talent like Soto, it’s far below his value on the open market.
The midfielder is expected to earn around $16 million through arbitration this year. He qualified as a referee in 2023 and 2024 before becoming a free agent in 2025.
The Sharks will spin around when that time comes if the Nations can’t come up with a more competitive offer.
Rejecting the contract now will cost S$10 million per year in the short term. Considering he’s headed for a nearly half-a-billion dollar contract, that’s a small cost to delay.
