Boy was hit by car at Kelmscott station in hospital and seriously injured

A young child is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car at a train station in Perth, in the city’s southeast.

The seven-year-old boy was hit by a white Toyota Rav4 at Kelmscott train station at around 1.40pm on Sunday.

WA Police said the incident occurred near the north-east entrance.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Perth Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old woman, was uninjured.

Major crash investigators are leading the investigation into the incident.

No charges were filed.
