Bow Bow responds to viral debate about charging $1,000 for meet-and-greet tickets

Social media is a riot after two debates with rappers arch wow have gone viral. The first of the debates began on Sept. 4 when a tweet offered two options: have dinner with the rapper or raise $2,900 in food stamps.

The question is similar to the one asked last year when fans were torn between having dinner with Jay-Z or taking $500,000 in cash. More than a few people chose to have dinner with the mogul hoping they’d get away with money-making tips. But in the case of Bow Wow, an overwhelming number of responses proved that social users were drawn to a grocery store spree rather than settling for a meal.

“You’re all so disrespectful, but if you see me in Costco buying all the groceries, go about your business. 😂 FOOD STAMPS >>> BOW WOW,” one person tweeted. Other tweets included memes showing them banging their EBT card on the counter when checking out at the store, and memes showing them running happily around the store pushing a loaded shopping cart.

“D-n Bow Wow that’s me leaving Publix with the last piece of Alaskan king crab after cleaning them up with my food stamps,” read another tweet.

However, some fans shared that breaking bread with the “Like Mike” actor would be nostalgic. “These stamps sound good, but I would have to choose Dinner with Bow for my inner child. He was my first crush. His debut album was my first CD. The OG Scream Tour was my first concert. I had Word Up posters of his all over my walls. Dog tags with his face around my neck. I loved him,” read a tweet from a former Bow Wow fanatic.

Another person who was willing to accept the dinner offer wrote, “Dinner with Bow Wow he’ll give me the game to get $2900 in food stamps for my own handouts.”

Bow Wow has been known to fire off a tweet or two when he becomes a hot topic of discussion online, but in this case he has yet to respond publicly. However, he tweeted and deleted some reactions to the second debate about his meet-and-greet awards. The Fresh Azimiz host is gearing up for 24-city The Millennium Tour: Turned Up, starring Keri Hilson, Pleasure P, Mario and several other acts.

On Sept. 6, a TikTok of a woman sharing the shock she experienced after finding out Bow Wow was charging $1,000 for premium meet-and-greet tickets went viral. Social media users who weighed in on the debate agreed that the tickets were overpriced, while others felt the price was reasonable given his overall music career.

“I hate how people try to discredit Bow Wow. At one point he could have charged twice that for a meet-and-greet. There are people who will willingly pay $1,000 to meet him at 22. She’s annoying,” one person commented in response to TikTok.

Another wrote: “The meet and greet with Bow Wow doesn’t hit the same as Chris Brown. All Bow Wow fans are grown parents. Chris is still active out here. Gain new fans. In the early 2000s I would have sold my youngest sibling for wow lol.”

Bow Wow may have gotten fed up with the banter and clapped back at those who slammed him for the meet-and-greet award. “My meet n greets start at $150 if you just report the diamond package. Stop pretending to hit me it’s a stack…there are 3 packs to choose from. READ BEFORE YOU START POSTING S*** ON THESE BLOGS,” he wrote in a tweet that was deleted shortly after it was posted.

In a second tweet, which was also deleted, he wrote, “See, if I’m minding my business and staying off the grid, YOU STILL HAVE TO TALK ABOUT ME,” he said. “One week it’s ‘Bow wow sell the o2 arena he’s a goat’ who wants to meet him for 1,000? Ya Baby Mama N**** that’s who. Read before you post about me. Stop playing with the dog.”
