Booker T Says WWE Exclusion Room Wasn’t Safe At First: “I Didn’t Want To Be In That Match”

On a recent episode of the “The Hall Of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T said he didn’t like being in the 2002 Elimination Room because it wasn’t securely designed with the pads it is today:

“I didn’t want to be in that game,” Booker said. “I know someone will get hurt. You can literally slide down, strain and elbow and be sidelined for 6 months. That’s how much steel is around that fireplace. Is crazy. It’s like a monstrosity. There’s no way you can go into that thing and not get hurt. “

Booker continued, “People didn’t really realize how serious that night’s fight was because there was no way to go out there and not be a stuntman. You just need to take it. You will be sore the next morning. It’s so scrary. That’s why you never see me in all those games because I never really campaigned to be in those games. Booker says that WWE has made changes to the Room’s design, and while it’s not a cakewalk, it’s not as dangerous as the first design.
