Bobby Miller proves why he’s a top promotional contender after taking on Shohei Ohtani

Shoehei Ohtani was the first big league batter to face Los Angeles Dodgers top pitcher Bobby Miller. He knocked him out.

The opening day of the 2022 MLB season will take place on April 7th. The Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up spring training by taking on the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Dodger’s top pitching prospect Bobby Miller was named the game’s starting pitcher.

Miller had the first major league opponent to face the batter’s box – Angels star and reigning AL MVP Shohei Ohtani. The prospect showed the hype is real as he beat Ohtani in six places, the last of which was a 100.2mph fastball.

Dodger’s top pitcher, Bobby Miller, beats Shohei Ohtani with 100 mph fastball

This is how you can make a statement. Miller did so while his family watched from the stands at Dodger Stadium.

Just take a look at some other pitches Miller threw in his head-to-head match with Ohtani.

Miller enters the 2022 season ranked No. 2 in the Dodgers and the 57th prospect overall in MLB. The Dodgers capitalized on the 29th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft after serving at the University of Louisville.

The right-hander played in single-A+ and double-A in his first season with the Minors last year. In 17 games (14 starts), Miller recorded a 2.40 ERA, a .94 WHIP, a 2-2 win-loss record and 70 strikeouts over 56.1 innings.

Dodgers fans must be pretty excited to see what Miller can bring to the mound in the majors. Beating AL’s reigning MVP is exactly the right way to make a first impression.
