(NEXSTAR) – An autopsy report to Bob Saget determined the comedian’s cause of death was “traumatic brain injury” that resulted in multiple skull fractures and bleeding near the brain.

The report, shared with Nexstar by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s office, further concluded that Saget was positive for COVID-19 at the time of his death on January 9, although his respiratory system was not signs of acute or chronic inflammation.

“Most likely the deceased fell backwards and hit the back of the head,” wrote Orange County Chief Medical Examiner Joshua D. Stephany.

Saget’s injuries include, but are not limited to, scratches to the back of the scalp, subcutaneous hemorrhages under the scalp, straight fractures at the base of the skull, intermittent fractures (bones broken into more than two pieces. ) on the “Roof of the orbit in relation to the bilateral and frontal bones,” and additional subdural hematoma and hemorrhage.

The report indicated that Saget’s body “fits” to that of a 65-year-old man, although one of his arteries showed signs of “severe atherosclerosis” or blockage, making it narrow. as narrow as 95%.

His death is believed to be an accident.
