Following a spectacular week 2 which resulted in 5 UFC contracts, Week 3 of Dana White’s Contender series will look to continue the furious momentum. DWCS week 3 features five action-packed bouts, led by middleweight Bo Nickal (1-0) vs. Zachary Borrego (3-0).

The opening bout is a women’s strawweight bout against Sandra “Peruvian Zombie” Lavado (10-2) and Karolina “Polish Assasin” Wójcik (8-2). Lavado is a submission artist ranked by Tapology as the #1 active Peruvian fighter. She faces a formidable opponent in Wójcik, ranked as the No. 2 pound-for-pound woman in Polish tapology.

The second fight of the night is a flyweight bout between Edgar “Pitbull” Cháirez (8-3) and Clayton “Beton” Carpenter (5-0). In this bout, Carpenter will look to extend his unbeaten record to six wins against one of Mexico’s top flyweights, Cháirez. With the UFC flyweight division looking for new blood, a strong performance in this fight could likely see the winner earn a contract.

In the third fight of DWCS Week 3, featherweight “King” Erik Silva (8-1) meets Anvar “The Uzbek” Boynazaraov (3-0). Despite only having three pro MMA fights under his belt as opposed to Silva’s nine, Boynazarov is an accomplished kickboxer and muay thai competitor, defeating various pro mixed martial arts fighters including the Georgian UFC fighter Giga Chikadze, has defeated.

The second main fight of the night is a heavyweight bout against Brazilian Paulo Renato Jr. (10-1) and Jamal “The Storm Trooper” Pogues (8-3). Renato Jr. was originally scheduled to face Caio Machado; However, after Machado faced visa issues, he was replaced by Pogues. Renato Jr. and Pogues have regularly fought at the lower weight classes, with Renato Jr. being a former welterweight and Pogues being a light heavyweight.

Headlining DWCS Week 3 is a highly anticipated row between Nickal and Borrego. Nickal is a former NCAA Division I wrestler, and while he only has one Pro-MMA win, he caught the attention of many fans, fighters, and coaches after his KO win at Jorge Marsvidal’s iKon FC 3. However, he faces a strong opponent in Borrego, who is a silver medalist in the Junior Olympics in Taekwondo.
