Those sneaky loot boxes filled with random goodies could soon be a thing of the past surveillance 2will release later this year, but a recent poll suggests monetization of the hero shooter could be more aggressive elsewhere.
Apparently, Overwatch 2 Store in game could charge you as much as $45 for a single skin — or at least Blizzard seems to be testing the idea. The asking prices in the survey are as follows:
- Mythical Skin – $44.99
- Legendary Skin Bundle (includes weapon charm, player icon, victory pose, voice acting, name card and spray) – $29.99
- Legendary Skin – $24.99
- Emote Highlight Intro Souvenir – $19.99
- Weapon Char – $9.99
- Pack of 3 sprays – $4.99
“This survey is intended solely to better understand player preferences for different types of players surveillance 2 cosmetics”, a over watch speaker tells kotaku by email. “Prices displayed in the survey have been randomized per user and are not indicative of final prices. We plan to release details on our Shop and Battle Pass system closer to our October 4th launch.”
Since the survey emails were sent out, the asking prices have not gone down well with players.
“Yo, I’d rather buy literally at any cost surveillance 2 instead of being free to gamble anywhere with money” said a Twitter user.
“And here I thought I was already being stabbed Halo infinity lmao”, said another Twitter user.
“I know some people [are] I’ll defend the prices and say, ‘Don’t buy etc, that’s it[ a free to play] Game,'” said one Reddit user. “People like you who choose to defend this crap are the reason for the games industry [is] go inside [an] Abyss.”
