Black teen in NJ mall fights white teen tells CNN

Z’Kye HusainA Black teenager who was almost caught in a skirmish while the White invader sat restlessly on a bench, told CNN of his treatment by police in a viral video.

The Fight was captured in the video, as well as the aftermath in which police in Bridgewater, New Jersey, pulled a Caucasian teen away from Z’Kye and set him down on a bench before arresting and handcuffing Z’Kye a rough way.

On Friday morning, the version of CNN’s New DayZ’Kye, his mother Ebone, and their lawyer Benjamin Crump spoke out about the incident.

Copper anchor John Berman played part of the video that sparked nationwide outrage, then introduced its guests.

“You say the fight broke out after you tried to protect a seventh grader from someone you fought with who you said was a high school student,” Berman said, and asked Z’Kye “What happened?” happens next?”

“The police came over, an officer put his hand, he came, put me on the ground, put his knee on my back and started handcuffing me. Female officer? It was with the other boy, he walked away and helped me put the cuffs in there and put her knee on my back too,” the teenager explained.

“Looks like that, the teenager based on the video, we saw, threw you on the ground. When the police arrived, they dragged him away. Put you in handcuffs. What was going through your head while this was happening? ‘ Berman asked.

“I felt like I was incompetent, like I was less important,” said Z’Kye, later explaining that he didn’t know about the difference in treatment until he watched the video.

“And when you find out that he’s been sitting on the couch and you’re handcuffed, what do you think of that?” Berman asked.

“I was like crazy. I’m angry because they treated me differently,” said Z’Kye.

Z’Kye’s mother expressed outrage at this disparity, and Attorney Crump demanded that the officers be held accountable.

“I think they should be suspended, or if they are biased by the police, they need to be terminated,” says Crump, “because of what message we are sending to society, especially our young children. us, minority kids like Z’Kye, what if they said the police would treat us differently? “

“We are supposed to be guilty and the white kids are supposed to be innocent. We have more than 100,000 black people wrongfully imprisoned. It starts with incidents like these. What we saw on that video,” Crump said.
