Jason “JasonR” Ruchelski, a former CS GO Full-time Twitch player and streamer, being criticized for having a reputation for dodging Valuable substance games where women are present. He also protect yourself in the worst way possible, saying that he couldn’t disrespect women if he never interacted with them. It’s not a pretty look.
Earlier this week, some female experts Valuable substance players, including Annie and Paniniaccused of sexism against Ruchelski for allegedly disconnecting from the game whenever women appeared, as well as muting female players during Valuable substance and other games. And this is not Ruchelski’s first brush with accusations of this kind.
Vanessa “panini” Emory, an expert Valuable substance player for e-sports organization Shopify Rebellion, wondered on Twitter on February 20 if people would “talk about a big streamer” ignoring women in ranked games. She was referring to Ruchelski, who had previously accused of dodging and muting women in 2018. Panini’s tweet blew up and created a flurry of accusations from others Valuable substance players, such as Benita “bENITA” Novshadian, who speak Ruchelski has been doing this since Fights back day.

Two days later, Cloud9 Valuable substance pro Annie “Annie” Roberts corroborated panini’s claims on Twitter. Annie says more than 50 women have experienced Ruchelski “Accidentally” disconnects from the game as soon as a female player joins his team and her voice is heard. Ruchelski claims these drops are often the result of hardware problems, in response to what some call BS.
“[JasonR] is manipulating his audience and wowing them by saying he crashes every time,” Annie said. “Refusing to address any of the allegations.”
Ruchelski has since responded to the allegations. On Twitter, he call out Halo Infinite Team Cloud9 for “advocating for women hitting my wives”, although people were quick to point out that their problem was not with his wife, but with his avoidance and comments about other women. He also stated on Twitch that the reason he crashed so often was that he was on “dual PC stream and using VoiceMeeter Banana” which caused his game to start up, hang on the loading screen and mess up his sound. In an attempt to make his case, he even showed a clip of what his monitor looks like when a crash occurs.
Kotaku Have reached out to Annie, panini and Ruchelski for comment.
Perhaps the most obnoxious part of all of this, though, is his pejorative language toward women. In a startling, ironic defense of allegations of eccentric and sexist behavior, he declares, “I don’t hear from anyone in this damn server that I seem to have crashed because there’s a damn bitch in it.” He also said that he might be hated for the rest of his life because there might be “Damn girl” and really the “damn bitch” on his team. Looks like there are some of his VODs are playing Valuable substance with women on stream, but Annie question Where are these videos? Ruchelski also shot himself in the foot with some pretty brutal comments about how he couldn’t be disrespectful to women because he didn’t interact with or talk to women.
“I don’t support misogyny, I don’t support sexism, and I don’t support [people] behaving rudely to my wife for absolutely no reason,” says Ruchelski, although it is a little difficult to reconcile these claims with the distaste that he openly calls women “assholes.” Twitch is a tough enough environment for women to be as successful as it is today. There are consequences when men with the following stay away from women and don’t treat them as normal as other players.
Sadly, all of this is depressingly familiar. Not only has Ruchelski been accused of avoiding women once before, but the situation is reminiscent of a time in 2018 when Tyler “Ninja” Blevins said he won’t play games with women for fear that rumors might spread online. shinobi reverse this position a year later, but that predicament and new accusations of Ruchelski intentionally avoiding playing with women underscore the continuing sexism on Twitch.
