Big Matches Revealed for WWE NXT WarGames

Several matches are now set up for the WWE NXT WarGames event.
Men’s WarGames teams were formed after the main event, which saw NXT North American Champion, Carmelo Hayes, beat Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne in Triple Threat. The ending led to a scuffle with Tony D’Angelo dragging Dunne to the floor as he attempted to pin Gargano for the win. Hayes then finished off Gargano to keep him. As D’Angelo was greeting Trick Williams at the perimeter, LA Knight and Grayson Waller scuffled out into the perimeter, bumping into D’Angelo. Knight and Waller argued backstage during the performance. This led to D’Angelo attacking the Knight until Dunne saved him. A huge scuffle then spilled into the ring. Hayes and Trick injured Gargano’s arm until NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa saved him. Ciampa, Dunne, and Knight cleared the ring while Gargano recovered. Bron Breakker then stepped out and stood with Hayes, Waller, and D’Angelo. He took the mic and shouted “WarGames!” before they rush into the ring. The two teams argued in the ring when NXT 2.0 started broadcasting.
Men’s WarGames match will feature Breakker, Hayes, D’Angelo and Waller against Ciampa, Gargano, Dunne and Knight.
The final member of the Women’s WarGames matchup was determined on NXT tonight as Kay Lee Ray joined Io Shirai, Raquel Gonzalez and Cora Jade. They will face Dakota Kai and Toxic Attraction (NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne).
A match between Hair vs. Hair was also announced for WarGames with Cameron Grimes and Duke Hudson. Last week’s episode of NXT saw Grimes top Hudson in their Poker Showdown match on their ring, but Hudson snapped and cut Grimes’ hair, and some of his beard. Grimes appeared on tonight’s show with shorter hair and offered a challenge to the Hair vs. Hudson accepts the challenge.
NXT Tag Team titles will also be available at WarGames. Next week’s NXT 2.0 will feature Legado del Fantasma’s Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde against Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner with winners challenging Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner of Imperium for the belt.
Finally, it was announced that NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong will defend his title at WarGames. Joe Gacy will be the one to challenge him. Gacy has been talking to The Diamond Mine for two weeks now, and that continues tonight when they take on him in the ring. Gacy vs. Strong is set before Malcolm Bivens orders The Creed Brothers to attack Gacy, but then he backs down when Harland shows up as Gacy’s backer.
