Ben Roethlisberger knows the Steelers are big underdogs against the Chiefs and he’s not going to let that put him down.
Almost no one gave Pittsburgh Steelers a chance against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. Pittsburgh was able to make it to the knockout stages, even though the Chargers-Raiders game almost gave countless people a heart attack.
Having said that, the Steelers will now be up against Patrick Mahomes and Co. in the Wild Card Round. Steel Man didn’t expect to keep things close, but Ben Roethlisberger made it more clear that he is going into the game with a ‘nothing to lose’ mentality.
The Steelers know their backs against the wall compared to the Chiefs
From the quote above, Roethlisberger knows that the Chiefs are heavy favorites. He almost acted like he was assuming Pittsburgh would lose, but we knew he wasn’t. This man is a competitor and he will give everything he has to bring down KC, even if no one thinks it will go down.
With that said, can you imagine if Pittsburgh somehow figured out how to pull the win? Again, that wasn’t expected, as the captains attended the Super Bowl two years in a row and they had a great shot at winning three seasons in a row.
The Buffalo Bills will of course have something to say about that, while the Steelers will also try to kill those dreams on Sunday. Roethlisberger is likely to announce his retirement in the near future, but he has at least one more game left before he retires. With a great result on Sunday we will of course see him progress to the Split. However, we won’t count on that.
