Best Meta Decks for Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel (Mid 2022)

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has been out for a while now and we’ve had a chance to really get a good look at the game’s meta. There are many different archetypes and builds in Master Duel, but some stand out more than others. Some of this is due to accessibility as well as the fact that there are few archetypes that are very good. So, which decks currently make up the top meta builds? Let’s take a look.
sword soul
Arguably the greatest addition to Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has been the Swordsoul archetype for the past several months. This archetype revolves around Swordsoul Wyrm monsters, but also utilizes the Tenyi cards to create a strong and powerful board. Synchro Monsters like Swordsoul Grandmaster – Chixlao, Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign – Chengying, and Baronne de Fleur make life very difficult for opposing decks, especially if they go first. These decks are usually the ones most commonly found in online ranked games, and with good reason.
tri brigade
Tri-Brigade builds vary by player. Regardless of which type is used, however, these decks can be quite problematic. Shuraig, the Ominous Omen, can blow up a well-fortified board and can even be summoned during your opponent’s turn thanks to Tri-Brigade Revolt. Also, this deck can also use Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer and Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder with Zoodiacs, making it a powerful option if you’re going to take either first or second place.
Sky Striker
Sky Strikers dropped after the first few weeks in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, but have gained momentum thanks to the addition of Destiny HERO -Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer. This deck was missing a key piece that could reliably blow up opposing players’ hands, and DPE seemed to be the missing piece. Along with Sky Striker cards that add draw power, negate enemy boards, and blow up, it makes this archetype pretty tough.

adamantcipator
Adamancipator Decks in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has become quite infamous in the game, but its power cannot be denied. This combo-heavy deck relies heavily on constant Special Summons, and its access to cards like Block Dragon, Gigantes, Doki Doki, and Prank-Kids Rockies keeps the party seemingly never-ending. Adamanicipators love to go first thanks to his preference for putting numerous floodgates like Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess and Borreload Savage Dragon, and Adamancipator Risen – Dragite on Turn 1. But its numerous plays and combos make it a significant threat even on Turn 2.
Other meta archetypes
The four above are the ones that are very common in Yu-Gi-Oh! master duel. However, there are other decks to watch out for. Here’s a look at other meta archetypes to look out for:
While many of these decks haven’t changed much in composition since January, Drytron decks are being seen less and less. That’s thanks to the fact that Cyber Angel Benten, a key component of these decks, has been limited to just one copy. While still powerful, it’s not that widely used, at least in our experience.
