After much anticipation, veteran wide receiver Julio Jones has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The NFL season is fast approaching as players have started reporting for training camp. There are still plenty of big names in the open market looking for new teams, one of which is former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones. Well, he’s returning to the NFC South, but not to the ATL.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jones is signing a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s right, Jones will be catching passes from Tom Brady for the 2022 season.

Twitter loses it after Julio Jones hooked up with Tom Brady at the Buccaneers

As the news broke, Twitter users took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on Jones working with Brady.

Schefter mentions that another team interested in signing the former Falcons and Titans wide receiver was the Green Bay Packers. Still, as Schefter reportsthe privateers were more aggressive in signing him.

Jones spent most of his career with the Falcons before last season’s break when the team traded him to the Tennessee Titans. The transaction was intended to help the Titans fight for a Super Bowl by boosting their passing attack. But things didn’t go as planned.

The veteran wide receiver’s production plummeted and he was limited to 10 games due to injuries. During that span, Jones caught 31 of 48 goals for 434 yards and a touchdown. After the season, the Titans released Jones from his contract.

Now Jones gets to join the Buccaneers to win his first Super Bowl title. He had an opportunity to do so with the Falcons, but they failed to hold a 28-3 lead, thanks in part to the other team’s quarterback and now his current teammate – Tom Brady.

Jones is a privateer and will prepare for the coming season at training camp. Oh, and the Buccaneers will be Training with the Titans ahead of their preseason game on Aug. 20so this is going to be interesting. Best memes, reactions from NFL Twitter
