Benches Clear in Mets vs. Nats: Best Memes and Tweets

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals got hot on Friday night as the benches were cleared after Francisco Lindor was hit by a pitch.

Things got a little tense between the New York Mets and the Washington Nationals after Francisco Lindor was hit by a pitch on Friday night. Unfortunately, Lindor was hit in the face and it got a damn reaction from the Mets (who are understandably tired of having their bats hit by pitches).

The whole situation is pretty dire because this isn’t the first time a Mets batter has been hit with a pitch. Unfortunately, even though the Mets are only two games into the 2022 season, this isn’t even the first time a Mets hitter has been hit in the head with a pitch.

Pete Alonso was also hit in the head on Thursday evening. Fortunately, Alonso seems fine but the whole situation is far from great.

So it’s not shocking that the Mets were outraged after Lindor was hit.

Here’s how people are reacting to the situation on Twitter.

Twitter reacts as benches between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals are vacant

Buck Showalter won many fans with the way he immediately responded in defense of his team. Just look at everyone who is in love with Showalter’s reaction to this whole situation.

Showalter’s anger has excited a number of people for the Mets. People love that kind of reaction.

This whole situation is kind of tense and unnecessary and totally avoidable. All the Nationals have to do is stop hitting batters. Just prevent batters from getting hit. That’s not too much to ask, is it?
