Ben Roethlisberger cheered on Twitter for his incredible first half performance

NFL Twitter wasn’t too good for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger after his performance in the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ben Roethlisberger had a potential storybook coming out last week Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Baltimore Raven in extra time. But due to the Indianapolis Colts’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders’ win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Steelers earned a playoff spot. That gave Roethlisberger at least one more game to play this season, but it went to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Anyone who expected Roethlisberger to have some magic in the Wild Card Round has shown the opposite, as the previous pick in the first round in 2004 was 5-14 on his throws for a total of 24 yards, when they led 21-7 at halftime.

NFL Twitter was, well, ruthless, to Roethlisberger about his performance in the first half.

After the first half ended, it looked like the Steelers had a chance to settle things down, as both teams failed to score. Pittsburgh even made it to the top of the table after the full-back scored a goal in a clumsy recovery, giving them a 7-0 lead.

That clue was gone, when the chiefs regained consciousness, especially about the offense. Kansas City scored three touchdown goals in just over five minutes in the first half, all of which came from pitches by star defender Patrick Mahomes.

When the knockouts are over for the Steelers, they will in search of their new franchise quarterback to succeed Roethlisberger. Ben Roethlisberger cheered on Twitter for his incredible first half performance
