Gerard Pique and Shakira’s breakup saga continued to heat up after Pique’s mother gestured at Shakira in a way that seemed highly unlikely, sparking social media in a flash.

Gerard Pique ended a relationship with Colombian pop singer Shakira in September after the waka-waka singer revealed Pique was cheating on her while she was with her mother due to her critical health condition.

The pop singer sacrificed his career to stay with the retired Barcelona defender and the two lived in a house near Barcelona while Montserrat Bernabeu, mother of Pique, was her window neighbour.

Following the couple’s split, the relationship between the mother-in-law and daughter appeared to have died down after the two previously shared good memories together.

However, there was an event that happened recently when the mother and daughter were engaged in a heated conversation that didn’t go over well as Montserrat grabbed Shakira’s cheek and then silenced her by pointing a finger at her mouth.

The particular incident sent the world into shock and video footage of the pair cheering furiously on at each other went viral immediately. Montserrat, 59, a former Barcelona women’s team defender, has been heavily criticized.
