In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Becky Lynch said she knew Charlotte Flair wouldn’t be collaborating on the WWE SmackDown title swap.
Lynch said she lost her temper and she went backstage with Flair. Things didn’t escalate physically because she had to go out after the evening game.
“There was a plan that was put in place to go one way and if it went one way people would have a little bit of time and it would be great,” Lynch said. I, in the back, said that this was not going to happen and that she would do something else. And she did exactly what I said she would. Sometimes things can happen out there and people can just disappear for a while and you don’t have time to process what’s going to happen but when I found out that she was intentionally disrespecting me, I process it a lot faster. So I was able to keep it together until I got backstage. I did what I had to do and then when I got backstage, I lost it a bit… In the words. I have to go right out and do the evening match. I said lose it. I still have a match to go and do so I don’t have time to worry in the back. “
Lynch said that “everyone was talked to” but “in the end I was right.”
When asked if Flair would have a hard time working with Lynch, Lynch said “yes” and she just wanted to finish Sunday’s game well.
