Bears hires Chiefs Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles as GM

The Chicago Bears are said to have found their new general manager, with CEO Ryan Poles getting the job done.

Give Chicago Bears, the search for a replacement for Ryan Pace has officially ended. After another difficult season for the team, which ended without a trip to the post-season, Pace was fired from his role as general manager.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Bears have decided to go with Kansas City Assistant Director of Player Human Resources Ryan Poles for the role.

If the Polish name sounds familiar to Bears fans, he actually signed with the team as an untrained free agent out of Boston College in 2008. His playing days were never fruitful, but Poles really made a name for himself off the pitch.

Poland joined the Kansas City main office in 2009 as a player personnel assistant. He continued to work his way up, eventually being appointed Assistant Director of Player Human Resources in 2018.

Poland, 36, will now be tasked with trying to get Chicago back on track. His first major decision with the team was to find a head coach to replace Matt Nagy. Jim Caldwell, Matt Eberflus and Dan Quinn seem to be finalist for the position. With that said, Caldwell could very well be the one making the gig.

For Chicago Bears fans, they’re sick and tired of the team struggling, while the Green Bay Packers continue to be league class. Poles is a rising young star in the league, and the organization hopes he can provide some much-needed energy to the organization.
