Bayley returned to WWE SummerSlam alongside Io Shirai, Dakota Kai and the fans

Bayley, Io Shirai and Dakota Kai all returned at WWE SummerSlam 2022 and fans went insane.

SummerSlam 2022 was a historic event as it was the first premium live event without Vince McMahon, who was not responsible for the creative direction of the program. Now, Triple H is head of creative and he’s had a chance to make his mark at WWE’s biggest event of the summer. And he wasted no time on it.

The show began with Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship. Belair held after hitting a Spanish fly and a KOD to claim the win. Afterwards, Lynch shook Belair’s hand as a sign of respect. But there was more to come.

Belair’s music stopped playing and, to the amazement of fans, it was Bayley returning. The former Raw, SmackDown and NXT Women’s Champion wasn’t the only one to show up. Dakota Kai, who was released earlier this year, walked down the ramp. Then the music hit by Io Shirai.

The trio confronted Belair in the ring, but Lynch stood shoulder to shoulder with her rival.

Twitter users and fans went insane upon seeing the trio return at SummerSlam.

Bayley has been sidelined since last summer after tearing her cruciate ligament ahead of her scheduled SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Belair at Money in the Bank. Fans have been waiting for when she would finally return to WWE.

Kai spent her entire WWE career with the NXT brand but was released on April 29.

Shirai last appeared on April 2 on the NXT Stand and Deliver Special on WWE Television, where she was part of the fatal four-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship. Mandy Rose retained her championship after defeating Shirai, Kay Lee Ray and Cora Jade.

It seems there is a new stable on the main roster with Bayley, Kai and Shirai. Meanwhile, Lynch, who returned as a heel at last year’s SummerSlam, has rolled his face.
