Barcelona ‘in close agreement’ with Torres as Guardiola gives green light for January transfer

Reports quickly circulating in the Spanish media on Friday night indicated that Barcelona will shock Manchester City star Ferran Torres, which is drawing close to a completion date.
Blaugrana’s Concerns
Of course, it is generally known that, before the January transfer window reopens, La Liga giants Barcelona are looking for reinforcements for the attack.
New coach Xavi Hernandez has been left with some conundrums in the third row during his first week at Camp Nou, due to a string of significant bad luck on the personnel front.
When things settled, Martin Braithwaite, Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele were all sidelined, due to fitness issues respectively.
Add to that the fact that Antoine Griezmann has been allowed to return to Atletico Madrid over the summer, and the woes facing Xavi in the third final becomes clear to everyone.

Torres coming?
In turn, it’s no surprise to see Barca seen as a potential landing spot for a host of attacking stars from across the continent of late.
And, as stated above, if the latest word coming out of the Spanish media is anything to go by, such a player’s arrival at the Camp Nou seems to have come a long way. significantly.
The attacker mentioned? Ferran Torres.
First, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Spain international Torres had informed Pep Guardiola and Manchester City of his desire to return home to Barcelona in January.
Not only that, the MD added that the Citizens boss would not object to such a development, with Guardiola having blessed the move, in the event a financial agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

However, the speculation doesn’t end there.
Spanish newspaper Marca has since also jumped on Torres’ story with Barca, going as far as to claim that an agreement has been made between the club and the player.
It remains to be seen whether those in power in Catalunya can entice their Manchester counterparts into a deal, amid hints of a potential loan with a purchase obligation.
