Barcelona are gaining a distinct advantage over Inter Miami in the battle for PSG superstar Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is close to saying goodbye to French club PSG after his contract expired in June and the Argentine has no intention of extending the contract as talks with other clubs are ongoing.
MLS League’s Inter Miami have long been interested in bringing Lionel Messi to their club as it will be an honor to showcase their continent’s greatest player but also face stiff competition from other clubs.

Barcelona are drawing up a plan to secure Lionel Messi’s comeback in Catalonia and they are very confident of pulling off the blockbuster move.
Lionel Messi is Barcelona’s greatest legend, having spent 21 years at the club, joining the youth academy at the age of 13 and eventually becoming the team’s all-time top scorer with 672 goals in 778 appearances.
During his time at Barcelona, Messi won numerous trophies including 10 La Liga, seven Copa del Rey and four UEFA Champions League titles. He also won the Ballon d’Or award for a record seven times while playing for Barcelona.
Finally I leave it here! Whether you accept it or not, Barca was Messi and Messi was Barca, no greater legend or player than Messi will ever play for Barca again! Period! pic.twitter.com/7eJ2y0HfF7

However, Jorge Mendes, father of Lionel Messi, previously brushed off Barcelona any chance of re-signing his son, telling Sport Barca: “I don’t think Leo will come back to Barcelona – the conditions are not met.”
“We haven’t spoken to President Joan Laporta, there isn’t even a proposal from Barcelona.” – added Jorge Messi previously.
But things have changed in a span of time as Jorge Mendes recently issued another statement in which he stated that it was possible for the Blaugrana to re-sign Messi but they haven’t discussed the situation yet.

“Impossible? I don’t know, I don’t know if it’s going to be impossible. It’s obviously possible. We haven’t even talked to Laporta, wait. Leo is signed to PSG.” – said Jorge Messi.
PSG, on the other hand, are keen to tie the superstar to a new contract, which seems highly unlikely and where the little magician will go remains a mystery for now.
