BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A Baltimore man was sentenced on Wednesday to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder two years ago in East Baltimore, authorities said.
Keith Gladden received life sentences with all but 50 years of probation for first-degree murder in the shooting that killed 20-year-old Dontrell Toliver in April 2020, the Baltimore State Attorney’s Office said.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr Toliver’s family and friends, who are still living through this indescribable tragedy as they mourn the sudden passing of their loved one.” Baltimore State Attorney Marilyn Mosby said. “The defendant’s actions are unacceptable and he should be held accountable for his disregard for other lives.”
Toliver was shot around 2:39 a.m. on April 6, 2020, near the corner of Jefferson Street and North Montford Avenue. Officers called to the scene found him with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died from his wounds.

Prosecutors said the shooting was captured on surveillance footage, which showed two armed men confronting Toliver, lashing him with pistols and then shooting him while shooting. he lay defenseless on the ground, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said a witness identified Gladden as a suspect and a search of his home recovered the black jacket and bandana of one of the shooters. He was arrested the next day.

A second defendant charged in Toliver’s murder is still awaiting trial.
