After being released on February 18, “Once Twice Melody” sold 20,300 copies in the US in its first week of release, according to publish. Billboard sales charts follow a schedule from Friday to Thursday.

The traditional album sales chart, unlike the Billboard 200 album chart, began to incorporate some streaming and digital track sales figures in 2014.

More than 70% of first-week sales were vinyl, marking the band’s fifth No. 1 spot on the 11-year-old Vinyl Albums chart, Billboard reported.

“Once Twice Melody” also debuted at number one on the Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Tastemaker Albums and Top Current Album Sales charts.

Keyboard singer Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally announced the 18-song album last November, nearly four years after their last release, “7.”

The duo covered the songs in four or five tracks, culminating in the release of the last chapter of the day with the physical album.

According to Sub Pop, “Once Twice Melody” marks the first time that Legrand and Scally have used a live string orchestra and produced a Beach House recording entirely themselves.
