James Harden, the newest signing of the Philadelphia 76ers and a former Arizona State player, is really looking forward to March Madness this time around, and the player wasted no time in tweeting that out. Harden, like everyone else in the world, is eagerly awaiting the start of March Madness, and just like the term “madness” everyone is anxiously awaiting the arrival of this season. Everyone is feeling the hype now, and Harden, unable to control his hype, is letting the world know about his excitement!

The pinnacle of basketball is the NCAA-sponsored men’s and women’s basketball tournament, which typically runs from mid-March to early April. The term insanity itself is an explanation of how big the event is and how people react to it happening each time. For hardcore basketball fans, the tournament, organized by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), is far more than just college basketball, it’s a series of bubble teams, brackets and buzzer beaters, all leading to endless hype and excitement.

The term madness perfectly describes the hype surrounding the tournament at the beginning. With multiple teams across the US competing for a spot in the tournament, the Big Dance is a massive event that generates great excitement from everyone.

To give you a brief explanation of the tournament format, the NCAA College Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination tournament where 68 teams compete to survive three game weekends to be crowned national champions. The field used to consist of 64 teams, but the NCAA recently added four more teams playing in games to earn a place in the last field of 64.

With a fixed span of three weeks, only 16 teams (the “Sweet Sixteen”) make it through the first weekend. The second weekend narrows the field down to the “Elite Eight” and then to the “Final Four”. The final weekend focuses on the four semi-finalists. The two semi-final winners advance to the national championship game.

Now that we’re clear on what the March craze is, let’s take a closer look at James Harden’s tweet highlighting his enthusiasm for the March craze.

James Harden is probably sitting somewhere, anxiously awaiting the start of March Madness, just like every other basketball fan out there. Harden couldn’t control his excitement and took to Twitter to let the world know he can’t wait!

James Harden mentioned a future text in a tweet and emphasized his enthusiasm for March Madness that everyone has been waiting for. Harden wrote “BALLIN LIKE MAAAARCH MADNEEESSSSS!”, which is part of lyrics to Future’s song “March Madness,” which will be released on March 31St August 2015.

A decade-defining song was nothing short of exciting lyrics for James Harden to take notes on, as the player found his lyrics a perfect portrayal of his feelings.

James Harden himself has had an exciting career during college basketball, making a name for himself since his college days were as legendary as the song. Harden was an elite player in college who was on a team that wasn’t of the same caliber as the player. Harden played for Arizona State, which appeared in the National Invitation Tournament and the NCAA Tournament during his college years. But his team, the Sun Devils, failed to make it past the third round of either tournament.

Harden was such a star at Arizona State that the school retired his #13 jersey, despite only playing two seasons with the school. He still remains one of the greatest players in Arizona State, making him worthy of the treatment he received.
