In a recent episode of her Life Uncut podcast, she said, “I’ve always said things like, ‘Maybe it’s not for me, maybe love isn’t for me, maybe kids aren’t for me, maybe that’s not what it’s for destined is me.’

“Deep down, I still thought it was going to happen,” she admitted to her co-host Laura Byrne.

“And now I’m too … I’m really like now, ‘Wow, maybe this really isn’t for you.’

“It made me realize that I don’t think I used to believe it.”

Byrne nodded empathetically as she reminded Hockley that finding love and having children are two very different things.

“You can and you will find someone to love and want to be in love with,” Byrne told her.

“These things don’t add up. You are so worthy of being loved and then you can decide if you want to have kids,” she added, as Hockley began to shed tears.

Through tears, Hockley said she had a hunch, “That’s why it’s been such a tough chapter, because I know there are a lot of women out there who are in my position.

“When you get to a point where you’re like this, I just want to give up.”

She explained how she thinks to herself, “I don’t want to do this anymore” and “there’s something wrong with me.”

“Something’s wrong with me because I can’t find it. Everyone else can find it. But you get to a point where you’re like, ‘When is that day?’”

“There are restrictions”

Hockley went on to share the dating advice she’s tired of hearing, that love sneaks up on you when you least expect it.

“Everyone says, ‘Don’t think about it. Don’t think about children. Don’t think about dates. Don’t think about finding the one.

“Just let it happen… But you can’t.

“You can’t just let it happen when you’re a woman aging on a biological clock. There are limitations and it takes space in your head.”

‘Broken heart’

Brittany’s confession came eight months after she split from her ex-boyfriend, tennis player Jordan Thompson.

As Thompson traveled for work and lived abroad, Hockley said distance played a role in the breakup.

On the podcast, Byrne said her friend was left “heartbroken.”

Commenting on the split, Hockley said: “I can’t explain how difficult the past few weeks have been. There were days when I couldn’t get out of bed or stop crying.

“There is no story here. Nothing bad happened, it was a nice and amicable split.”

Visiting The Morning Show on Wednesday, Hockley and Byrnes shared that while they’re very outspoken, they’re keeping some things private on their podcast.

“The transition from then when we started the podcast to now…when we started this we were like, ‘We’re not going to talk about our personal lives, we’re never going to say the S word, nothing,'” they told the hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

“Three years later we released everything.

“But there are things that we’ve made a point of keeping very close, that we’ve been through together, individually, parts of our childhood, or things that have really impacted us.

“It’s always scary when you show it to the whole world.”
