Avalanche vs Star Prediction and Odds (Continuing Colorado’s Hot Series)

The Colorado Avalanche continued their dominance in the NHL. Currently, they are 17-0-2 in the last 19 matches, not losing according to any regulations since December 16.

Tonight, they host the Dallas Stars in the second leg at home and at home. Team Av beat the Stars in Dallas on Sunday, winning 4-0 on aggregate.

Let’s take a look at odds via WynnBET for the Central Division game tonight.

I took a shot at Stars moneyline on Sunday and I regret it, but I want to bet some money on them again tonight. I’m still not entirely convinced that this Avalanche team is as good as their record. They are sixth in CORSI% of the last 25 games, seventh in expected goals per 60 minutes and 11th in expected goals per 60 minutes. Sure, those numbers are great, but you’d expect a team that doesn’t lose the two-month rule to rank in the top five in those categories.

I won’t be as bold as Sunday and put the Stars on the money line, but backing them on +1.5 puck at -110 seems like a good point. I expect at least some degree of regression from Avs in the coming weeks.

Select: Star +1.5 (-110)

Iain is 29-26-1 (+1.10 units) with his NHL pick in 2022. Let’s see Details here.
