One Australian Open The ball girl had to be dragged off the field after collapsing during the first round match in one of the most thrilling scenes on the first day of the tournament.

The incident involved took place during Pedro Martinez’s 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Argentina’s Federico Delbonis on field 17 at Melbourne Park.

In the first set-break, footage shows Delbonis suddenly dashing towards the far end of the field, where the soccer girl has collapsed.

Falling to the floor, Delbonis shouted for help as he approached the young woman while Martinez also came to help her.

The two final judges helped pick the shaken youngster off the floor and escorted her to a chair to be judged.

It’s not known why she collapsed but social media reports suggest the heat could play some part with temperatures expected to hit 30 degrees this week.

The ball girl was examined by medical staff and then taken to the doctor by her parents.

The first day of the match in Melbourne was no shortage of incidents as home favorite John Millman won his first match against Feliciano Lopez when the Spaniard complained to the referee about the The fans scream during this serve.

There were even reports of fans scuffled in the stands after the four-set match.

‘The crowd was a bit noisy. Everyone had a few drinks and enjoyed themselves,’ Millman said after his win.

‘You don’t want people throwing punches, because we’re fun people and meant to have a little fun.’
