“My daughter is on a date right now and a lot of people are asking me, ‘What are your rules when it comes to dating your kids?'” the 36-year-old captioned an amusing TikTok video.

“Number one, good luck.”

Kat said she had high expectations for the next man to follow her daughter’s former boyfriend.

“My daughter and I share a birthday and her last boyfriend always gave me a present, too,” she said.

“Expectations are high”

“So not only are my daughter’s expectations high, mine are too.”

As the third rule on her list, Kat said sleepovers at her house were forbidden — unless they’d been “seriously” dating for six months.

She admitted that she doesn’t even want to meet the boyfriend “face to face” when they are still in the early stages of their relationship.

“Sorry,” Kat said, laughing.

Her fourth rule for boyfriend was, “Your parents better have fun.”

“If this relationship goes anywhere, I want my Christmases to be fun,” she said.

“I don’t want a Karen telling me what to do.”

Finally, Kat warned, “Never take my daughter out to dinner and expect her to pay for her meal.”

Her video has been viewed more than 3.4 million times – many parents agree with her list of rules.

“You are literally the best mom ever,” one wrote.

Another said: “Kat you are the best mom alive and haters back off.”

Valid Reasons

One revealed: “I think those are all very valid reasons.”

Another added: “I think my mum would tell any future boys to run with my attitude and my sass while they can.”

While one said: “I wish my mum had these rules.”

Meanwhile, one woman revealed, “My dad used to say, ‘When you meet me, I’m already impressed that you’ve made it this far…’ The painful part impresses me, not him.”

However, not all agreed with the calculation rule.

“Agree with all but the last one… It’s powerful for women to pay for themselves and their partners,” suggested one woman.

Another said, “I was with you until the last… Everyone wants equality until it’s time to pay the bill.”

While one mum added: “Before having my son I would have approved of that last one but I don’t want him to date someone who expects him to pay for their meal.

“I would expect him to offer it, but if they just directly thought he should do it… no.”

However, some defended Kat’s payment rule, with one suggesting, “Whoever invites the person on the date pays for the date.”–c-8500206 Australian mom Kat Clark reveals the five strict rules for dating her teenage daughter
