Australian football star Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of being appointed Tottenham manager

Australian football legend Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of being appointed manager of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

According to multiple reports, the 57-year-old is set to be appointed this week as he has emerged as a standout candidate following his title-winning revolution at Celtic.

The former Socceroos manager wasn’t the first name to be targeted by Tottenham, who notably had their eye on Feyenoord manager Arne Slot before the Dutchman opted to re-sign with the Eredivisie champions.

Postecoglou should now take on the task of bringing Spurs back to the promised land of the Champions League.

Tottenham finished eighth this season, missing out on all European competitions and could lose their captain Harry Kane to Real Madrid.

Postecoglou will become the first Australian to manage a Premier League club.
