Austin Gunn confirmed that he will not take time away from AEW due to his upcoming reality series. Gunn will star in “Relatively Popular: Farm Rules,” a new reality series by E! network. Dave Meltzer initially announced that he was leaving the company because of the show.
Gunn replied Ringside News ‘covers the story via Twitter. He said the show would in fact not interfere with his work for AEW. Meltzer’s original report was untrue. Austin clarified the situation with a simple statement.
“I don’t take time off”
Austin Gunn signed with AEW in January 2020 after a short stint with Ring of Honor. He is currently struggling in the cage with his brother, Colten, and his father, Billy Gunn. Austin plays a third role when Billy and Colton’s Gunn Club team recently took on Sting and Darby Allin.
The reality show will follow a group of eight celebrity children who work together on a farm. Other stars include Pat Benatar’s daughter, David Hasslehoff’s son, Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Shaquille O’Neal’s son, and more. The show will premiere in January on E!
The initial false report came from this week’s Wrestling Observer Bulletin, which said Gunn was “going away”. Austin himself has now confirmed that he will not be taking any time off. AEW fans will be witnessing a completely intact Gunn Club moving forward.
