Bahamas Bowl: Middle Tennessee vs Toledo (December 17, noon)
Just don’t think too much about this game. Toledo was the better team on both flanks in this game, even if the Rockets underperformed. The erratic nature of the MTSU is a bit intimidating but I’m taking the heavy favorites and running with them.
Select: Toledo -10
Tailgreeter Cure Bowl: Northern Illinois vs. Coastal Carolina (December 17, 6 p.m.)
Northern Illinois has some somewhat intimidating premium juices, but Grayson McCall’s return to Chanticleers is absolutely massive. He’s open to offense and, considering the Huskies are the last “lucky” team by the numbers this year, I’m counting out of luck.
Pick: Coastal Carolina -10.5
RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl: Appalachian Bang vs. Western Kentucky (December 11 a.m.)
Western Kentucky quarterback Bailey Zappe is chasing the record but the Boca Raton Bowl was a bad game for the Hilltoppers. App State has good pass defense and WKU running defense is a bit questionable, which is what rock climbers do. Give me the app that pulls this out.
Select: Appalachian State -3.0
PUBG Mobile New Mexico Bowl: UTEP vs. Fresno State (December 18, 2:15 p.m.)
Fresno State is definitely the better team overall this season but UTEP won’t overlook them as the Miners are on the upswing after defying expectations and winning a flop. Even if talent wins, there are still too many points on this line.
Select: UTEP +11.5
Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl: UAB vs. BYU (December 18, 3:30 p.m.)
Something we’ll see a bit throughout these bowling games, let’s dominate this game more than anything. There’s going to be a lot of points but the Cougars look like a far superior team to where I’m sitting, so give me a BYU on this one.
Select: BYU -7.0
LendingTree Bowl: Eastern Michigan vs. Liberty (December 18, 5:45 p.m.)
The way Liberty and Malik Willis have underperformed this season, seeing them as more than just a game favorite is a bit of a stretch. We’ll be going down the narrative route with this pick, though, as we take the Flames and their quarterback for a final introduction to the NFL draft.
Select: Liberty -9.5
Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl: Wyoming vs Oregon State (December 18, 7:30 p.m.)
Despite the odd name for the bowl game, this looks like a great match when the Aggies are getting too many points. Wyoming is a team that fights hard and benefits anyone. Even with Oregon State performing well, the bottom team felt it was the right move.
Select: Wyoming +7.5
