Atlanta adds bullpen on deadline buzzer

The Atlanta Braves traded for Los Angeles Angels seamstress Raisel Iglesias on the deadline buzzer. Here’s the full trade:
The Angels were once at the top of the American League West. Oh, that was a fun story to start the season with.
Then a historic losing streak on the spot cost her and manager Joe Maddon his job. On Tuesday they were definite trade deadline sellers, trading Noah Syndergaard and Raisel Iglesias on the buzzer.
Syndergaard was traded to the Phillies to help with their rotation in a division he is fairly familiar with. Iglesias, meanwhile, is en route to Atlanta, in part to take over from the recently deceased Will Smith, who was traded to Houston.
Raisel Iglesias trade details: Braves, Angels
Iglesias has a 4.04 ERA on the season and a 3.17 FIP with 16 saves. Those numbers aren’t terrible, but he’s been far from reliable in the closer position this year.

LHP, Tucker Davidson
If you think this is a lack of consideration for your closer, then you are absolutely right.
Iglesias would clearly be treated by this year’s deadline, and instead of holding him for vain, the Angels felt pressured to… do something.
Chavez is 38 and Davidson hasn’t promised much in the Atlanta organization.
As for Iglesias, he’ll slide into the back end of the Braves’ bullpen and should become an instant fan favorite. Kenley Jansen is clearly cemented as a closer team, but Iglesias could carve out a role for himself with a solid few months in the ATL.
