As the third Texas bus unloads another wave of migrants on the streets of DC, open-border politicians should come to a grim realization

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is to be commended for sticking to his promise last week to send migrants crossing the border illegally to Washington, DC so lawmakers can get a taste of the mess the government is about to unleash done by President Joe Biden.

Fox News reported that a third migrant bus arrived near Capitol Hill on Friday morning.

“We’re sending them to the United States Capitol, where the Biden administration will be able to more directly address the needs of the people they allow to come across our border,” Abbott said when he announced his new policy on April 6 announced.

The governor also announced increased inspections of vehicles crossing the border to look for illegal immigrants and contraband.

The following day, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki dismissed Abbott’s plan to bus migrants as a “publicity stunt.”

“I think it’s pretty clear that this is a publicity stunt,” she said. “The governor of Texas or any state has no legal authority to force anyone to board a bus.”

True, but the migrants board the buses voluntarily, and now, three buses later, it’s also becoming a DC problem.

Abbott’s increased controls at the border are also having an effect.

KVUE TV reported that the top Texas official has now reached agreements with three Mexican governors who are calling for greater enforcement action on their side of the border.

The latest was signed Thursday with Chihuahua’s Gov. María Eugenia Campos Galván. The Mexican state includes the city of Juarez, which is across the border from El Paso.

“The agreement between the two states will allow the Texas Department of Public Safety to return to random vehicle searches at the border instead of the expanded searches that have caused hours of traffic at border ports of entry,” KVUE-TV reported.

“Reg. Campos has begun and will continue with increased border security enforcement efforts on the Mexico side of the border, both at ports of entry and along the border, to prevent illegal Chihuahuan immigration into the state of Texas,” Abbott said.

Do you support Abbott’s decision to bus migrants into DC?

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton told Fox Business Network host Mario Bartiromo on Friday how the governor’s introduction of increased inspections brought about those agreements. He argued that Biden had in effect entered into a tacit agreement with Mexican cartels.

“The way it works is that the cartels know they can transport people and drugs across our border, and the Biden administration will pick up these people and move them across the country. It’s a tacit agreement,” Paxton said.

“The cartels know the deal and they’re benefiting enormously,” he added.

Abbott “has found that we can stop and slow down trade along the border, and it’s going to put pressure on Mexico and some of its governors to work out an agreement to help us with border security,” Paxton said.

He explained that Abbott is doing what Biden has refused, which is to protect American citizens “from drug and human trafficking.”

“It’s effective because you meet the Mexican government in their wallet and nobody wants that,” he said.

You have to thank Abbott and his team for forcing Biden into action and for highlighting the problems his open borders policy is creating.

DC Democrats are likely coming to the realization that Abbott means business, and in the meantime, the buses will keep coming.
