Artur Beterbiev-Marcus Browne – LIVE results from Bell Center in Montreal

Russian men’s tennis player Arthur Biyarslanov didn’t even need three minutes to knock out Alan Ayala on Friday night in Montreal.

The young welterweight prospect beat Ayala twice in the first round on his way to the first knockout round with underdog Artur Beterbiev-Marcus Browne at Bell Center. Biyarslanov, who took a decisive majority win over Israel Mercado in his previous game, improved to 9-0 and scored his seventh knockdown.

Ayala, of Guadalajara, Mexico, slid to 9-3 (5 KOs).

Biyarslanov hit Ayala with a right hook and then a left straight that sent Ayala back about 1:20 into the opening half. A right hook into the body and then a reverse hook on the right by Biyarslanov kept Ayala out of hand and knee with just over a minute left in the first round.

Ayala beat the count and tried her best to survive. A similar combination sent Ayala to the glove and knee again with 28 seconds remaining in the first round.

Referee Albert Padulo Jr immediately waved to end their scheduled 8th half right after Ayala touched the canvas for the second time.
