Arizona Cardinals’ James Conner (ankle) expected to play with Detroit Lions

The Arizona Cardinals run again James Conner is expected to play on Sunday with Detroit Lion despite an ankle injury, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Cardinals are also expected to have Chase Edmonds, new backup from injury, available in the backyard.

Two people running back will give a much-needed boost to an attack that loses all-star recipients DeAndre Hopkins, who landed on the bench injured Saturday with a sprained knee and is likely to miss the rest of the regular season.

Conner, who is listed as problematic, missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being limited to Friday. He’s second in the NFL with 14 rush touchdowns and leads the team with 661 yards on 179 takedowns this season.

Edmonds was activated on Saturday after missing four games with an ankle injury. In nine matches, he dashed 430 yards.
