Are the national parks open on July 4th?

There’s nothing like a holiday that falls on a Friday or Monday so we can all enjoy a four day weekend. This is what happened this year when July 4th fell on a Monday.

So a perfect idea for this patriotic holiday is to spend it in one of the many national parks in the United States.

According to National Parks, “Americans celebrate July 4th as the official birthday of the United States of America, commemorating the vote in favor of independence by the Continental Congress on July 2, 1776. Two days later, broader public announcements followed. During the week of July 4th, families and friends gather for food, fireworks, and fun while also reflecting on liberty and liberty for all Americans.”

But… are they even open?
