Apex Legends adds a limited-time Team Deathmatch, revamps classes, and celebrates four years on February 14th

There’s a party in Apex Legends, and you are invited to attend on Tuesday, February 14th. Then the Revelry season of battle royale begins with the headlining feature of Team Deathmatch. Which is kind like a party in the broadest sense.

Team Deathmatch will be a key feature for the first three weeks of the new season. After that, specifically in early March, players can look forward to a permanent playlist of unique modes known as Mixtape, which regularly rotate Team Deathmatch, Gun Run, and Control modes. The Revelry season also marks apex four year anniversary celebrated with an anniversary collection event and some account specific login freebies for the opening weeks of the season.

Regular players will likely notice that this new season doesn’t add a new character. Instead, the developers are revamping the class system, categorizing characters into one of five different classes and giving each class unique perks. This rebalancing will also mean character buffs and Ner are coming, with the developers specifically highlighting Lifeline, Seer, and Wraith.

Finally, the new season sees an overhaul of the new player experience, with improvements to shooting range, strafing, and stat tracking for dummies, as well as a new Orientation Match mode that primarily pits fresh faces against bots to help them learn apex core mechanics. Players can keep an eye on the season’s landing page for more, read a dev blog recap, and enjoy a new trailer below.
