An update provided by police confirms that authorities are investigating a murder.
Antioch police dispatch received a call at around 7:40 a.m. requesting a welfare check for an individual seen in the West 17 and F Street area, where Live Oak High School is located.
Upon arrival, police found a white man in his 50s with severe injuries and unresponsiveness. The victims died at the scene.

Police said the identity of the victim remained unknown as of Monday morning. Officers also noticed electrical wiring in the area where the body was found and the Walnut Creek Police bomb squad was called to assist in the investigation.
Police have issued a shelter-in-place order as the investigation continues. Parents have been informed that classes have been canceled at Live Oak High School.
Antioch Police Department Director of Strategic Communications Darryl Saffold confirmed this is the fourth homicide the department is investigating so far this year.
On Saturday, a suspect was arrested in connection with a double murder after his teenage son and girlfriend were found dead at their apartment. Police say there are currently no murders involved.
All individuals in that area are advised to shelter in place until further notice. No details have been released regarding the investigation, although there are some unconfirmed reports online that it involves a murder.
Area residents are asked not to call 9-1-1 unless facing a life-threatening emergency.
