The Los Angeles Lakers will need to find a way to win with Anthony Davis on the sidelines as his injury update looks unpromising.
That’s because Anthony Davis could be out of action for the next month. If you’re looking at the rest of the NBA schedule, you know that timing isn’t right for the Lakers.
Towards the end of a report In an attempt to address the futures of the Lakers and LeBron James, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski casually mentions that sources have told people at ESPN that Davis could be out for another four to five weeks.
According to Wojnarowski, Davis is facing a sprain in the middle of his right foot that will keep him off the field for the rest of the season.
That’s not good news for Davis, James, the Lakers or their fans.
Anthony Davis Injury Update: Los Angeles Lakers May Not Bring Davis Back For The Rest Of The Regular Season
The good news is that there’s a chance Davis could be back in time for the Lakers to run into the knockout stages. The bad news is, without Davis, it doesn’t seem like the Lakers can really hit a hot streak to improve their place at the Western Conference ahead of the knockouts.
Currently, the Lakers are holding the 9th seed in the Western Conference. It’s not a great place.
Maybe James can help this team get through the rest of the season. Perhaps once Davis returns, the Lakers can thrive in the knockouts. Or maybe this season just ended up disappointing Lakers fans.
