Anthony Davis’ comment on offseason training is worrying

Los Angeles Lakers fans need to be honest after hearing Anthony Davis’ comment on how seriously he is taking this NBA offseason.

That Los Angeles Lakers have to rely on Anthony Davis, but the guy doesn’t want to shoot basketball in the summer months.

It may have been taken out of context, but Davis admitted he hasn’t shot a basketball since around April 5. That was over two months ago – and that’s an important part of what he does for a living. While every player is entitled to enjoy some rest and relaxation during the summer months, the 2021-22 Lakers were nothing short of dog water. LeBron James isn’t getting back this year.

He may have ruined space jam, but you can understand why King James seems to be courting every team under the sun lately. And that was before Davis admitted to not riding for over two months…

Anthony Davis claims he hasn’t shot a basketball in over two months…

It might not have been on par with the one time Jim Gaffigan bragged about not eating a banana for a month, but how can Lakers fans think that’s okay? Aside from two good years with LeBron, since the death of Dr. Buss nothing short of a tire burn. Los Angeles acted for Davis, thinking he was the perfect guy to eventually take on an aging James, but here we are.

Looks. It would be amazing if Davis showed up like a Greek hunk akin to Giannis Antetokounmpo to the training camp built to play 75 games and win MVP, but we all know that doesn’t happen. He’s a phenomenal player… when he wants to be. That’s why he’s the most frustrating player in the game NBA not named Kyrie Irving. It’s just a basketball, but the guy makes millions playing basketball…

If you feel like you’re taking crazy pills too, you’re not alone. There’s about one (maybe two) player better than James in the history of the sport, but Davis is fine with not shooting basketball for two months over the summer. Championships are won and lost in the offseason, not in the Orlando bubble. There’s still a long way to go to fix this, but everyone else is trying to get better too.

James is past his prime and it’s a shame Davis doesn’t seem ready to take the baton from him. Anthony Davis’ comment on offseason training is worrying
