Atlanta Braves fans weren’t happy with umpire Angel Hernandez during Monday’s game against the Washington Nationals.

One way to learn how baseball season has finally begun is when fans unite to talk about referee Angel Hernandez’s questionable calls. Atlanta Braves fans got a taste of the action in their fifth game of the season at Truist Park against the rival Washington Nationals.

By the end of the eighth inning, the Braves were trailing 6-1. With the bases loaded, helper Tucker Davidson got ready to throw a toss to Victor Robles. That’s when Hernandez did something behind home plate.

I’m not sure what Hernandez did, but it certainly caught the attention of those watching the game or who happened to scroll into the video above. Still, Braves fans brought up Hernandez’s questionable strike calls throughout the game, as you can see in the following tweets:

In the eighth inning, Atlanta handed extra runs to Washington. Josh Bell hit an RBI single. Robles, in the video above, Robles was hit by a shot on Davidson’s fourth shot, allowing Nelson Cruz to score. Maikel Franco then knocked on a brace in three runs to right field and extended the lead to 11:1.
