Germany’s Andreas Seidl, in his fourth year with the team, said there was still work to be done with one “One second behind the top cars” on a flying lap. He added “I’m very happy to say that we now have a clear plan of what we need to do with the car to make progress in terms of performance.”

When asked how long it would be before these upgrades could be seen on the car, the Mclaren boss said “When exactly that happens, I don’t want to go into too much detail. There are various parameters that you need to consider when doing this, there is the cost ceiling that you need to consider, there is also the limited time in the wind tunnel that you have these days that you need to consider. So you have to pack it as well as you do it.”

The team that finished fourth in the Constructors last year and enjoyed success at Monza definitely intends to match that excellence. The Mclaren team has a lot to do with two capable drivers who are hungrier than ever to compete against the top teams. The team has taken quite a turn in recent years with the appointment of CEO Zak Brown, who subsequently handed over to Andreas Seidl to lead the team.
