An edge rusher falls and 3 years in a row with a first round WR – The Athletic

The calendar has turned to April, which means the NFL Draft is fast approaching.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ latest seven-round mock draft takes into account the team’s postal agency depth chart, as well as the latest information on the draft’s prospects.

Two quick notes:

1. It’s very likely that the Eagles will try to trade at least one of their first-round picks, but for this exercise the picks were made in their original places.

2. Highlighted different players than in the pre-combining pseudo-draft to identify passes and opportunities for the Eagles.

Round 1, #15: Jermaine Johnson II, DE, Florida State

Johnson excelled during Senior Bowl week and could go off the board in 15th place. If he’s still there, he’s a strong contender for either of those two Eagles picks. Johnson was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year with 12 sacks in his only season for the Seminoles. He transferred from Georgia, where he was part of the Bulldogs’ loaded defense. Johnson is 6-foot-5 and 254 pounds with 34-inch arms and ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash. He would be a building block player for the Eagles on the sidelines.

Round 1, #16: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Select your wide receiver here. This is the area where recipients will begin to exit the board. Whether it’s Wilson or teammate Chris Olave, USC’s Drake London, Arkansas’ Treylon Burks, or maybe even Alabama’s Jameson Williams, the Eagles should find a player of starting caliber in their teens. Wilson is 6 feet, 183 pounds with a 4.38-second, 40-yard dash. An edge rusher falls and 3 years in a row with a first round WR – The Athletic
