An earthquake has struck residents of Mansfield while the state continues to struggle with flooding

Residents in northeast Victoria were woken up by a 3.4 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday morning.
According to Victoria SES, the earthquake struck near Mansfield at around 9.01am.

As of 11:30 a.m., GeoScience has received 96 reports from local residents.
The depth of the earthquake is given as 5 km.
Residents flocked to local Facebook pages asking if anyone else felt the tremor.
“A slight earthquake just now? Or some other phenomenon,” asked a resident.
“Felt like an explosion here 2km north of Mansfield,” replied another.
Local residents in Merrijig, 18km away, also said they experienced the effects of the quake.
CCTV footage posted to a Mansfield community Facebook page showed residents’ shock at the coincidental natural disaster.
Footage posted by a local business in Mansfield shows three people casually working before looking alarmed and running to safety as the quake hits.
According to Mansfield Shire Council, the town did not appear to have sustained any significant damage.
The small earthquake comes as residents of Echuca, just two hours from Mansfield, brace for major flooding, with the Murray River expected to peak on Wednesday.
